Anders Lindberg CEO of JKL Sweden was interviewed in the business weekly Veckans Affärer (2009-09-23) concerning which election questions he feels are the most important for the Swedish business community in the Swedish general elections 2010.
The outcome of the election will influence the Swedish business community regardless of whether it is the left or the right that wins. The removal of the wealth tax and its possible reintroduction is one such issue. The agreement on energy and environment with the future of nuclear power at its heart is another important issue. “If not enough positive opinion is created around it, there is a risk that it will be withdrawn,” says Anders Lindberg. The issue of affirmative action regarding board representation of women is another important issue. “Affirmative action is exciting. For the red-greens it is a simple issue, it doesn’t cost anything at the same time as it touches upon the rights of ownership itself.” Labour legislation is another area which can have a large impact on the business community. Legislation for small and medium sized businesses is an area that the current government has had a greater ambition to reform than it has managed to during the current election period. An increased privatization of the production of health care can be another area of significance. These six areas will prove to be of particular significance for the Swedish business community in the 2010 elections.
