Johan Björkstén from the Chinese Eastwei MSL visited JKL on April 12th. Like JKL and MSL Nordic, Eastwei MSL is part of MSL Group’s global network.

Mr Björkstén has started several companies – most recently Eastwei MSL, today one of the largest PR agencies in China with offices in Peking, Shanghai, Guangzou and Chengdu. He established the Swedish Chamber of Commerce in Peking in 1998. Mr Björkstén speaks fluent Chinese and is a prolific author – his latest book, ”How to Manage a Successful Business in China”, has attracted a great deal of attention. He is also a frequent public speaker and television personality, having appeared on over 400 programmes viewed by tens of millions of people throughout China.

Mr Björkstén spoke at JKL on the topic ”Communication on the Chinese Market” and addressed issues such as:

• What happens when the world’s largest single-party state becomes the world’s largest market?
• How do Chinese consumers think?
• Censorship, the internet and traditional media; how do communication directors work on the Chinese market?
